“I thought ‘CLEAN EATING’ was devouring cupcakes while mopping the floor!”
I admit the above quote made me laugh… something I could have personally said years ago! (And I LOVE sweets so there are days now where I’d try to convince myself of its validity!)
However, a proper definition of ‘clean eating’ would simply be the idea of eating whole or ‘real’ foods — those that are un- or minimally processed, refined, and handled, making them as close to their natural form as possible.
I’m always amazed at how a concept so simple and relatively timeless manages to become yet another food trend. It’s interesting… is anyone really surprised by the idea that eating more vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, etc. would be a better option than reaching for that bag of processed chips? It’s not rocket science.
Keeping it simple often works best. Eat healthier and move more. When I’ve followed those guidelines I’ve managed much greater success with my health.
